This Month's Wine Club Wines
Wine club wines for February 2013
We have six incredible wines for you to choose from this month.   We are sure that you will be pleased when you open your wines over dinner or to share with friends.   The wines this month are broken into two categories.   You can select:

ONE from CATEGORY A
AND
ONE from CATEGORY B

But you don’t have to choose yet.   Remember that on the first Tuesday of every month, the wine club selections are open for tasting in your select Goody Goody location that participates in A WINE KNOW’s wine club.   You don’t have to come by and taste them before you make your selection, but it always adds a little extra fun to the program.   Whether you decide to taste them or not, simply stop by your selected Goody Goody location any time this month and tell the clerk you are A WINE KNOW Wine Club member.   They will help you retrieve your selection and tell you about other great specials that are available.

Sparrow Hawk is a real Rutherford value. Bright blue and black fruit with layers of flavors which include cedar, tobacco, mint and that famous Rutherford dust. The principals behind Sparrow Hawk, Harry and Tim Parsley, have cultivated terrific relationships with both growers and vintners. Their wealth of experience combined with the access of some of the best fruit and talent has enabled Sparrow Hawk the opportunity to provide wine in the bottle that is an excellent example of the appellation at a price that consistently and significantly overdelivers.

Arbor Crest is pleased to present this highly acclaimed wine, Dionysus, a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This distinct wine was given the name “Dionysus” to complement the exceptional Dionysus vineyard and to acknowledge the mythological Greek God of Wine. Dionysus is a fun wine to craft because it is a wine that is created from only the best vineyards in only the best vintages. The creation of Dionysus is where art presides over science – the true art of blending. This full-bodied wine is aged in French oak for 32 months. The alluring aroma of maple sugar, cedar and black raspberry unfold on the palate as plum, nutmeg and black cherry ~ thoroughly seductive. This wine will age gracefully for 10-12 years

Chateau Clos De Moiselles  This winery is owned by Oswaldo Hernandez, a Venezuelan winemaker who has worked at Chateau D’agassac and Chateau Bonnet and Bodegas Pomar in Venezuela. He decided to challenge his passion after working in the wine
business for several years by purchasing 40 acres of vineyard in the Cotes de Bourg region. He interned the venture with a young, friendly and positive attitude and has realized his dream of making outstanding wines in what he calls the “origin of famous wine.” He has been rewarded by getting “Gold medals” at many international shows and being awarded “87” and “88” points for his wines by Robert Parker
BLEND - Merlot, Cab Sauv, Malbec

Tillman Chardonnay  This wine has a very mellow and smooth start with the flavors of peach, pear and apricot found in a typical Chardonnay. The slight hints of vanilla and butter-scotch from the wood are present making the wine flow smoothly on the palate. Excellent wine for the price point. A $15 wine with a $40 mouth, who could ask for more?

From Bourgogne (Burgundy, in English), Pierre André Rully blanc Chardonnay is a textbook example of a Burgundian chardonnay. Some wines from Pierre André are quite pricy for everyday consumption; however, Rully blanc remains affordable yet retains all of the quality of the pricier wines from this Château. You can see the symbol of Château de Corton André (the roof tiles of the castle) on the label. Its color is pale gold, and it has a great buttery chardonnay flavor.

St. Hilaire Semi-Sweet
More than a century before champagne, the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire in the Southern foothills of Limoux had created France's Very First Sparkling Wine.
Today, over four and a half centuries later, SAINT-HILAIRE Blanquette de Limoux is made in the very same foothills of Southern France.  Sweeter and slightly softer than our EXTRA DRY, this wine is comparable to Demi Sec in Champagne.
